Cybercrime preys on senior citizens, leaving many feeling alone, embarrassed, and unsure of where to turn. Recognizing this urgent problem, the Cybercrime Interdisciplinary Behavioral Research (CIBR) Lab at the University of South Florida (USF) is developing SeniorSafe AI—an innovative, AI-powered chatbot designed to give older adults a trusted companion in the fight against online fraud. This free, open-source tool will provide a safe, judgment-free space for victims to report incidents, receive real-time guidance, and learn ways to stay safer online. More than just a support tool, SeniorSafe AI offers law enforcement and advocacy groups invaluable insights into emerging cybercrime tactics, helping them respond faster and smarter. The chatbot will be trained to follow best practices in victim care, guided by transparency, adaptability, and fairness. This presentation shows how SeniorSafe AI combines cutting-edge technology with empathy to protect vulnerable populations and seeks input from practitioners. By gathering feedback from law enforcement, victim advocates, and cybersecurity professionals, we aim to ensure that SeniorSafe AI remains a practical, user-focused tool that meets real-world needs.
