At WWDC2022, Apple unveiled a new security update system for iOS 16 and macOS 13, Ventura: Rapid Security Response. However since their public releases in late 2022, we've seen only a few RSRs and none release for Apple's current operating systems. Now why is that?. This talk will delve into the insides of the Rapid Security Response architecture, including its initial use for security research devices, underlying Cryptexes and grafting, as well as understand the limitations and where Apple's been secretly deploying RSRs regularly to the public.
