The cybersecurity community is no stranger to burnout. It seems to come in waves; disappearing during the good times, but coming back en-force during the bad times. So how can we take a topic that feels subjective and turn it into a quantitative metric to not only prove that our teams are experiencing burnout, but also serve as a data point to drive and support business decisions? And, let's take it one step further and turn that value into a predictive tool to address burnout before our team can even feel it.With IT and security teams across the globe combatting ever-present threats, non-stop alerts, and the demands of their organization within the constraints of profit margins, we need to be better about measuring burnout and its impact on the organization so we can make it an issue that executives and decision makers care about while also taking care of our teams. In this session, I'll walk through turning tools that track work into work-time metrics, giving you evidence to communicate the business risks of analyst burnout to leadership, and protect your team (and budget) in the process.
