No one wants war, but it’s important to be prepared for any potential conflict. The wars in Ukraine and the Middle East sent tech companies world-wide scrambling to protect their people, move or delete sensitive data, protect (and sometimes burn down) at-risk infrastructure, among many other challenges, all while continuing operations. For many organizations their response was reactive and ad-hoc. Despite the tremendous cost of lives and property, these wars are localized. What if Ukraine escalates into all out conflict between NATO and Russia, a global hotspot like Taiwan becomes a shooting war, or we face some other unforeseen scenario? Is your organization ready? This talk provides tools and insights to ensure your organization is ready should a major conflict arise. We will consider historical lessons learned, war game potential scenarios, provide a planning methodology adapted from military war planning, and share essential advice and guidance to organizations on how to prepare for the potential of a war. You’ll leave this talk with valuable tools and insights to ensure that your organization is better prepared should a major conflict arise, as well as a deeper understanding of what steps to take to protect your people, data, infrastructure, and operations.
