So, have you heard of ChatGPT? As cyber threats continue to evolve and become more sophisticated, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity has become increasingly important. In this session, we will explore the current state of AI in Canadian cybersecurity and examine how this technology is being used to defend against a range of cyber threats, including malware, phishing attacks, ransomware, insider threats, and vulnerabilities. Specific examples of AI methods, including Large Language Models, and how they are being and can be used both by adversaries and defenders will be provided. We will also discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing AI in cybersecurity, including issues related to data privacy, ethics, and regulation. By the end of this session, attendees will have a better understanding of the current state of AI in Canadian cybersecurity and the potential implications for the future of this rapidly evolving field.
