This talk will focus on how I rebuilt a physical security service line offering to provide reliable physical security engagements for both consultants and clients. The first part will discuss several difficulties that may be encountered while attempting to run a physical security service line. This talk will cover a good process to follow when building a physical security service line, such as securing buy-in, defining service line offerings, and scoping. I will then cover common physical security vulnerabilities with a particular focus on their remediation to highlight to both technical and non-technical audience members the need for physical security assessments. The final part of the presentation will discuss useful resources and starting places for those interested in learning more about physical security. This will also reinforce the need for conducting physical security assessments by showing the amount of information readily available to potential threat actors that they can use to compromise a location.
