The events of 2020 have caused a dramatic uptick in the use of cloud applications and infrastructure for both business and security operations. Business decisions were made faster than the security team were used to. New cloud services were onboarded at speed to ensure employee productivity, and security teams had to quickly pivot to try and support these needs. It seems unlikely we will completely go back to the old ways, but there are certainly areas to revisit in order to rebalance availability with security. During this session, we’ll look at retrospectively applying due diligence, considerations for securing hybrid working, and ideas for continuing to securely support your organisation into the future. This session will provide insights about combining the IT Security and Physical Security into one Risk Assessment and it will show some ‘lessons learned’ about this process during COVID-19. Instead of focusing on the COVID-19 drawbacks, the presenter with share his experiences on how he used COVID-19 in a beneficial way.
