As ransomware and extortion incidents become more frequent and complex, it’s critical to understand the legal issues these incidents present prior to being in the midst of one. Most often, restoring the operability of systems takes top priority, but missteps during the incident response can create significant legal issues down the road. This session will explain the important legal considerations when responding to ransomware and extortion incidents to better prepare organizations for when these incidents occur.
