Non-IT professions use standard tools, masters of these professions use one off and custom tools to increase their efficiency and effectiveness as well as complete jobs that others deem too time consuming or impossible. If other professions do this why aren't we taught to solve problems in this manner and encouraged to "think outside the box". In this session, Tim gives an overview on setting up a git (or similar) repo, and explains why we want to use this to organize our script/programs before moving to the basic workflow of writing scripts, committing to your repository and then executing these scripts.
