With the recent partnership between BlackBag and Berla, investigators now have the ability to export a file to a proprietary format that can be opened in BlackLight, BlackBag’s flagship forensic tool for analyzing Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS devices. With this functionality, agencies can import data acquired by iVe, from a vehicle’s infotainment system into a BlackLight case and view it alongside other device data. In some cases, when a phone is inaccessible but known to be paired to a vehicle’s infotainment system, there may be enough evidence to keep your case moving without ever having physical access to the device. In other cases, it may be highly advantageous to see if a paired device’s data stored on an infotainment system expands and/or verifies data successfully acquired from the device. And in other circumstances, bringing vehicle data with GPS coordinates into BlackLight could allow for a more comprehensive analysis of locations of interest within an overall investigation. This session will give investigators the tools to take full advantage of the recent integration of iVe and BlackLight.
