Reminiscent of the days when folks hardly wore seatbelts, our nation is faced with a gap in our technology security that invites cyber criminals to invade our personal and business space and perpetrate harm. There is a responsibility on our part as citizens and professionals to take measures much like those taken to change the seatbelt story. Technology affords us unparalleled convenience, however, to the criminal as well. With the rapid advance of the convenience of technology comes responsibility; with responsibility comes opportunity, with opportunity...encouragement! As women in the cybersecurity space; we too have much opportunity! There are a many number of facets in the cybersecurity space which include risk management, incident response, training and education, privacy management, fraud investigation, response and recovery, PR/Media relations, physical security, automation and on and on! Let us encourage one another as women in security, whether cyber or physical, to seek out success in this field and embrace the opportunities to come.
