Cloud storage continues to grow in ease of use and popularity. Businesses use the cloud to store important collaborative documents; individuals use the cloud to store sentimental pictures. The convenience and accessibility from computers and phones make cloud storage ideal for many uses. What happens when cloud storage is used for nefarious purposes? What traces can a forensic examiner see on a system that has been either synced or used with cloud storage? This session will cover the forensic artifacts left behind. Attendees will be able to determine what cloud storage was used on the computer, how it was used, and what still might remain to aid in their investigations.
