Digital transformation is a fundamental transformation of businesses that put customers in the center. Digitizing processes and introducing new technologies are enablers, not the goal. Digital Transformation is a new value chain, from the understanding of customers to increased number of customers. This new value chain and supported technologies both require a fundamental change in management approach to deal with a complex, unexpected and fast-changing environment. There are few emerging practical, exciting and thought provocative new management systems based on ideas taken from non-deterministic science, such as chaos theory and complex adaptive systems. Management systems that based on concepts and understanding of how complex system are working are better suited to deal with complexity. Therefore, they rise as better management solutions for growing complexity introduced by digital transformation. Understanding the basic concepts of non-deterministic science, the available non-deterministic management systems, and the toolset available today to analyze, improve and operate organizations is the fundamental goal of this session.
