Coinbase is one of, if not the, largest single store of cryptocurrency in the world. We continually attempt to balance the consumer protection good of making sure Customers’ assets are available when they want them with the Security good of making sure the person requesting those assets is the real user. Because of those factors, we are on the absolute cutting edge of attacker innovation in user targeting, and we spend a good amount of effort on defensive measures as well as actor and technique tracking. My intent with this presentation is to give you all a window into what we see day to day. Where attackers are seeing success, where we see attackers innovating, and some thoughts about future directions.
