Protecting the critical infrastructures that enable our security and prosperity is a multi-faceted task, and it becomes more difficult every day as we add more intelligence and complexity to the systems and devices we rely on in a wide range of domains, including smart grids, air traffic control, and autonomous vehicles, to name a few. The talk will cover a broad range of topics inherent in critical infrastructure protection, including; public/private collaboration; information sharing; new engineering paradigms to develop more resilient systems; interoperability and integration issues; benefits and risks of increased autonomy; and key issues of risk acceptance and management. Presentation Takeaways - Review the many diverse issues in critical infrastructure protection - Understand the breadth of the domains involved in CIP - Understand the factors that make critical infrastructure protection more difficult - Understand some of the latest ideas and trends in protecting infrastructure
