So, we have all survived the elections... most of us in the InfoSec community following the election security news and woes of voter registration data. Now that it is all over, all is safe and our elections are secured correctly? What amount of the complete election is completed via closed systems and backups and never connected to the internet? In this talk we will look at an in-person example review of a local government election. We are not only talking about voter registration information, but the entire election management systems which tabulate votes that make our Country run. We will cover the processes, general network setups, threat vectors, and recommended enhancements that make the general election tick. We will even dissect the functional components of a voting machine.
