Mobile dating applications have become the predominant method to meet individuals with similar interests. The flexibility and user friendly approach provided by the mobile dating apps makes them more attractive than dating websites. Individuals are willing to share more personal details because of the artificial perception of anonymity and security within their mobile phones. This presentation aims to provide insight into the social engineering driven risks around using mobile dating applications. The talk will also cover instant messaging applications, which are generally used to connect with individuals once a dating match has been determined. Moreover, the research will also provide details and information that demonstrates how to configure an automated bot within the mobile dating ecosystem using available bot platforms in GitHub.
