To meet the expectation of constant connectivity to our personal and corporate devices no matter where we are, WestJet has embarked on initiatives to transform data centers, on earth and in the sky. Aircraft are evolving into mobile data centers at 40,000 feet, requiring innovative IT optimization techniques and support practices, while terrestrial data centers require new architectures, such as hybrid cloud, zero-trust networks and security bubbles. With these advances comes an overlay of governance and compliance to meet PCI requirements, which can present challenges.
