Policing the Deep Web

The cyber criminal underground economy is a rising tide that rivals the surface web. It’s not just individual hackers, it’s an entire criminal enterprise that spans the globe. Trend Micro researchers have been monitoring the Internet’s seedy underbelly for years. Every major breach begins and ends there and can be traced to a tool transaction happening on the underground, after which stolen data ends up getting passed around. CISOs and board members alike must understand the broader threat implications of the deep web to better protect their organizations from cyber crime.
