Physical security is important and can be as damaging or even more damaging than a network-based hack. There are insider threats and then there are threats literally inside. Everyone should be aware of simple manipulation and bypassing of locks (with and without lock picks) can greatly open your company assets to vulnerabilities. We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to protect our companies and data, and lock it all up behind a few dollars of physical protection. This talk will illustrate how many physical vulnerabilities allow malicious persons to exfiltrate information, data, and even physical property from organizations. We'll also discuss the anatomy of a lock, how to pick it, other covert and non-covert entry methods to gain access. I'll have live demos of picking various locks and tools used. This will be hands-on, eye-opening and greatly increase your situational awareness of physical security and concerns.
