I think a lot of people forget about the very basics of network security. I am amazed about how many networks I have worked on that don't have simple safe guards set up. My talk will focus on the basics; Spanning Tree, DHCP snooping, CDP and LLDP flooding, VTP domains, open network ports in public areas, not authenticating routing protocols. These are just some of the things I will talk about. I won't just talk about it, I will talk about the what, why, and how of these topics, show configs and how to implement these. I think these safe guards are very important to implement and also some of the most forgotten about.
