Recognizing the importance of protecting the city’s vital economic engines and critical infrastructure to be resilient to both physical and cyberthreats, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti issued Executive Directive No. 2 on October 30, 2013. Eileen Decker, deputy mayor for homeland security and public safety, and nominee for U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, will discuss the formation of the directive and the executive-led approach to position Los Angeles in the forefront of cyber resiliency in order to maintain government operations in the face of an attack.
