The presentation seeks to highlight the issues, persons and systems central to the enthronement of a secured supply chain. Expected roles and interactions among stakeholders are identified with a view to ensuring transparency and accountability along the chain. The obligations of regulators, manufacturers, enforcement bodies and various arms of government are enumerated in order to address contemporary issues arising from the incidence of counterfeiting. The paper further examines the relevance of cutting edge technology as an anti-counterfeiting measure and calls for legislative intervention as fundamental bulwark against counterfeiters. Finally, the presentation reinstates the need for regional and international collaboration.
