Many STEM programs focus on internships and capturing the small number of college students who have already decided to major in STEM fields. But Denise Sabolcik believes that by the time kids get to college, it‰Ûªs far too late to encourage them to pursue a STEM career ‰ÛÓ efforts need to begin in middle school or earlier. Business executives need to invest in a cooperative effort with parents and schools now, or in coming years there will be an even more significant shortage of IT workers to recruit. Sabolcik will discuss how important it is for executives to get involved and positively influence the next generation of IT professionals.
