The Presidential Policy Directive (PPD) - 21 established a national policy on critical infrastructure security and resilience. Recognizing that the national and economic security of the United States depends on the reliable functioning of critical infrastructure, the President issued Executive Order 13636, Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, in February 2013. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) released the first version of the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity on February 12, 2014. This session will review the past year of Cybersecurity activity at the national level. As many organizations and most sectors operate globally or rely on the interconnectedness of the global digital infrastructure, this session will review how these requirements are affecting, or may affect, how organizations operate, conduct business, and develop new products and services.
