Companies are constantly concerned about security threats from competitors, nation states, activist groups and other outside entities. Articles on these types of threats and actors appear in the news almost daily. The damage they cause is astonishing. Companies go through great lengths to deploy security in an effort to mitigate against external threats. Countless funds are spent on penetration testing, consultants and products to combat against these threats. Strong security at the perimeter is only half of the equation. Measures also need to be taken to detect and defend against insider threats. What happens when the person that is most trusted by the corporation turns on them? Whether it is the well-meaning insider, disgruntled employee or clandestine agent; you may employ your greatest security threat.
