Presented at RochesterSecuritySummit 2014 by

Linux containers are experiencing a revival as of late, due in large part to a new application to manage them named Docker. This talk will give a brief overview of Linux containers and how Docker can be used to wrangle them into something useful. The presentation will then tackle the question of “So what?”—focusing on use cases for Linux containers including security training, intrusion detection and enterprise log collection. Specific focus will be given to container reuse, security isolation and how containers fit into an organization’s information assurance strategy.
