All of the software and hardware purchased today have security features associated with them in some way. Yet many administrators do not use these technologies to their full potential. An example of which are the numerous security features built into all current version of Microsoft Windows, or additional features that may be built into a Next Generation Firewall. I will discuss and explain why it is important to be familiar with the appliances and technologies that you may have purchased in order to help arm you for current and future threats. I will also open up for questions so that attendees can share what their difficulties have been when implementing new technologies.
