Warren Buffett’s famous aphorism could be applied to cyber resilience planning: ”When the tide goes out, you discover who’s been swimming naked.” IT and Security strategists often fail to measure exposure to a key resources once computing resources are outside of the corporate perimeter. With the proliferation of Bring Your Own Devise (BYOD), the use of mobile technology, the shift to laptops, and the reliance on third party provides, the need to extend your security strategy outside your perimeter has never been greater. What is often lacking is a cost effective and practical approach to managing and securing your mobile workers. In this presentation, we’ll present some case studies, recommendations for developing your security strategy, and looking at the available technology. We’ll show how technology like; encryption, remote access, anti-virus, and data loss protection can be applied for your organization, and describe some essential strategies for identifying to prioritizing your acceptable level of risk.
