This session will describe the security challenges facing the U.S. energy infrastructure, focusing on cybersecurity, information security, and the growing list of regulatory and legal requirements. These challenges will be described as a series of opportunities where small businesses can help large businesses like Exelon by providing solutions. Experiences from the "Dancing with Start-ups" effort that Exelon undertook with Reboot and several Maryland and California based start-up companies will be used as examples of how small businesses can help solve the big problems described. Attendees will also hear about some of the negative experiences that can be avoided by small companies to improve their opportunities to do business with big company partners.
