Many of the tools, equipment and technologies that the U.S. Military has been using over the last decade are the foundations of modern cybersecurity. Additionally, the U.S. Military is among the best trained workforces in the history of mankind; training in leadership, execution, teamwork and discipline is at the heart of every veteran. For our military veterans, these core skills translate into an employee with some of the most important skills today's companies need. And what veterans may lack in technical skills, they can often learn and be trained on faster than their civilian peers. This session will feature a discussion on veterans workforce topics including: What makes veterans strong candidates for cybersecurity entrepreneurship and careers in cybersecurity? What services, programs and resources are available to educate and train veterans for careers in cybersecurity and/or cybersecurity entrepreneurship? How can industry and government best recruit, train and retain qualified veterans for cyber? And how does/can industry mentor veterans to prepare them for work in cyber or cybersecurity entrepreneurship?
