Join ISSA for a chapter meeting and guest speaker James Cabe from Fortinet speaking on the Internet of Things (IOT). Industrial organizations have depended on automation since Henry Ford created the assembly line. Most of our energy production and distribution uses automation to open and shut valves and measure data. This is essentially the idea of the Internet of Things. Measurement of daily activities, automation of utilities and daily activities, and information awareness through connectivity. Social networking and commodity wireless networks are driving us towards this interconnected future. Regular patching is one of the only ways to stay ahead of the hacking tool community. They include these in packages that are sold to criminal organizations. Securing these smart objects and information delivery mechanisms is a hard and inefficient process. Consumers cannot be trusted to continually patch their refrigerator. What do you do to protect people from themselves?
