With increasing adoption of cloud computing models, firms are becoming more connected and inter-dependent than ever, even if they don’t know it. Many companies have trouble securing their own environments, and now they have to worry about a myriad of partners and suppliers, many of whom may themselves be outsourcing key functionality – at the end of the day, it’s like ‘Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon’. While many companies are ill-prepared to tackle this issue head-on, new regulations are forcing companies to address their third(and fourth) party risk exposures.
