Physical and Logical Access Control Convergence

Presented at CloudIdentitySummit 2014 by

Currently, physical access control systems (PACS) and logical access control systems (LACS) are segregated, requiring multiple credentials, increased costs, and decreased usability. Federal, state, local, and the public and private sectors are collaborating to solve these identity and access management challenges by following standard-based technologies. In this project we are using XACML, an OASIS standard to communication between PACS and LACS. This presentation will include a brief demonstration of what is currently going live in a building in DC and for logical access for hundreds of users with smart cards.
