While NSTIC laid out a strategy, the hard work of advancing the Identity Ecosystem needs to be done by industry and government alike. In this session, hear what’s happening on each side. Paul Grassi recently joined NIST, charged with rebooting their standards work in identity. Nate Lesser will discuss how the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) will demonstrate a standards-based, ABAC mechanism for making access control decisions without a previously provisioned user account – and will lay out how interested technologists can participate in this and other NCCoE activities. Finally, Kim Little Sutherland will talk about the work underway in the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG) – the privately led body established to help advance the implementation of the NSTIC.
