The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration generates at least 20 terabytes of data each day, but only a small percentage of this information is easily accessible to the public. Increasing the ease and reducing the cost of industry access to NOAA data will stimulate the creation of new industries, boost economic growth and spur employment. NOAA is beginning the process of removing government infrastructure as a bottleneck to the pace of American innovation and enabling new value-added services and integration into citizens’ daily lives.
