With 10 years of forensic data, Verizon’s Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) is an ongoing study into cybercrime. It analyses forensic evidence to better understand the data security threat landscape: where attacks originate, what form they take, and what you need to do to mitigate them. The breadth and depth of data represented in this year’s DBIR is unprecedented. It combines the efforts of over 50 global security organisations, including The Australian Federal Police and U.S Secret Service, and more than 63,000 confirmed security incidents. In his address, John Karabin will share key findings from the report, including the nine common incident patterns that have been identified. He will also provide recommendations on steps you need to take to counter threats and protect your reputation.
