Computer crime - that is exactly what viruses, Trojans, and other social engineering attacks are - is a social problem. We have yet to find a technological cure for social problems. Without education, the efforts of technology are largely going unsupported. What are these threats? How have these threats evolved? How can we defend against them? Technological solutions certainly go a long way towards protecting us from these threats. But these solutions alone will not solve the problem. This social problem requires a social solution. This is where education comes in. How can we mitigate the risks? Is it possible to solve the social problem? How can education help here and how effective can we expect it to be? These and other compelling questions will be answered in this presentation.
