This presentation will focus on snort, the lightweight Intrusion Detection system. Yarochkin will provide some background on internal snort design and current problems as well as certain positive achievements which we observe in snort 1.x. He will outline plans for snort 2.x (and perhaps demonstrate some code too, if they get anything done before June). He will present the SnortNet project, which is a distributed approach on building network Intrusion Detection infrastructure based on snort sensors.
