The recent worldwide moves towardsincreased data mining and surveillance of otherwise innocent citizens is justified purely on the promise of preserving liberty and safety but, when viewed through the lens of history, are the chilling portents on the road to totalitarianism. There's no doubting this isnt the world we were sold by Beyond 2000. In this talk the Cartel examines recent laws and proclamations and compares them to historically similar events and why it could be only the hackers that save our children from living in constant fear.
