Let’s admit it — IOT hardware is much harder to secure than software. It has more complexity, more interfaces, and gives the attacker many more opportunities to cheat. But there are good news: it’s only going to get worse in the future! In this talk, I’ll go over the three things which make IOT systems so difficult to future-proof, discuss the effects of AI, both for attackers and for defenders, and end with some hopes and challenges for the future.
