Information technology has made impressive progress in the past 100 years. We now have wonderful tools at our service. Where do all the ideas and designs come from? This presentation will combine the history of the human brain with the history of computing. It will also deconstruct the IT world and show how important decisions need to be made, why IT security feels hard, and how to detect if people try to solve their digital problems by empty rituals or technically implemented solutions. You also realise why the wonderful world of IT security is full of conflicting situations by design and how to navigate through the high seas of constant change.
